More than 300 quake-affected residents from 68 households in Chudu village of Sakya county, Xizang autonomous region, moved into new homes only recently, in a sign of progress for reconstruction work in the area.

A move-in ceremony was held at Chudu village, with hundreds of villagers, construction workers, and officials gathering to celebrate the completion of the new houses.

All 68 households in Chudu village have access to safe drinking water and stable electricity.

"Thanks to the care of the government, we have been able to move into such excellent new houses," Tsering Tashi, a resident of Chudu, was quoted as saying by China Xizang Online. "The quality of the houses is exceptionally solid, and we are very satisfied."

On the same day, new home occupancy activities were also held in other villages of the county, including the villages of Gape and Chubar.
