The papermaking technique of Shora Tibetan paper in Nyemo County, Lhasa City, is a national-level intangible cultural heritage of China.

With a history spanning over 1,300 years, Shora Tibetan paper, one of the three principal varieties of Tibetan paper in Xizang, boasts features of resistant to insects, rodents, decay, and discoloration due to its special raw material—a toxic plant.

Historical and literary classics printed on this medium have remained impeccably preserved for more than a millennium.
