Recently, the themed exhibition The Spirit Between the Brows: Our Story with Horses, part of the 5th Lhasa Sweet Tea House Youth Art Season, opened to the public. Coinciding with the Year of the Fire Horse in the Tibetan calendar, the exhibition takes the horse as its narrative focus. Tracing the millennia-old symbiotic relationship between people and horses on the plateau, it presents a systematic exhibition narrative through themed sections, precious privately collected folk artifacts, historical images and documents, and immersive installations, offering visitors an educational and artistic exploration of plateau horse culture.

In the cultural context of Xizang, horses are far more than simple means of transportation. They run through mythology, epic traditions, wartime history and everyday life, from divine steeds in celestial legends and warhorses on battlefields to faithful companions along the Tea Horse Road, forging a close bond between people and the plateau. The ancient Tibetan equine knowledge system provides a comprehensive record of indigenous knowledge on the origins of horses, horse appraisal, horse training and veterinary care, integrating craftsmanship, ethics of life and views of nature.
