On December 14 (the 25th day of the tenth month in the Tibetan calendar), the annual Butter Lamp Festival of the Gelug Sect of Tibetan Buddhism was observed, with a peak influx of visitors at Tashilhunpo Monastery in Xigaze City, Xizang.

Believers lined up early to pay homage to the founder of the Gelug Sect of Tibetan Buddhism, Master Tsongkhapa, engaging in activities such as chanting scriptures and making offerings of lamps.
