Recently, the Namtso Lake of Xizang—known as the "Heavenly Lake" in Tibetan—celebrated its annual thawing festival, ushering in its vibrant tourism season. The event featured special cultural activities including mass weddings for a hundred couple, intangible cultural heritage performances and immersive folk experiences, which attracted numerous tourists.

Namtso is situated in Damxung County, Lhasa, and Bangoin County, Nagqu. The lake’s surface lies at an altitude of 4,718 meters, making it the highest saltwater lake in the world and the second largest saltwater lake in China.
