CHENGDU, Apr. 12 (Kangba TV)--The development and design training of cultural products, hosted by China Arts and Crafts Association and Center for Folklife and Cultural Heritage of Smithsonian Institution, ended in Chengdu, Sichuan Province, April 10.
20 Tibetan handicraftsmen from Sichuan’s Tibetan-inhabited areas attended the six-day training.

In the six days, Luo Jianjin, keynote speaker and renowned Singaporean expert of handicrafts design, gave lessons on design theory, color concept, future development, etc. for the trainees.
"The training gave me a new understanding about our culture. The teacher’s lectures provided lots of research and design materials, which inspired me a lot. I am confident to carry out better handicrafts designs, thus to inherit and promote the culture of our ethnic group," said a trainee who is engaged in costume designing.

After the training, the works designed by the trainees will compete in the Award of Excellence for Handicrafts of the World Crafts Council.
Via the platform, the products designed in the training will help expand the market of ethnic handicrafts.
