There was a king in Monyul named Kala Wangbu. His territory is in Mandalgang. Mandalgang is now called Dawang. A guru from Nyima sect named Ombu Urgyen Sangpo used to spread dharma and carried out Hayagriva abhiseca. Since then, the very place the guru held Hayagriva abhiseca was called Dawang. Yumandal State was a powerful one.
Among all the power and treasures, Kala Wangbu loved a hound the most. There were such lyrics:
Each state has plenty of treasures.
Kala Wangbu loved a hound most.
With this hound, the land seemed to glow.
This hound could catch birds.
The king always went hunting with it. He went to hunt wild animals with officials, the common people and hounds.

Varied animals were hunted. Wild animals in Monyul were plenty, such as goral, argali, wild yak, lynx, jackal, snow leopard, etc.
Hunting could please the king as well as gain belongings. Kala Wangbu was the best treasure. It is incomparable in the national treasury storeroom. That hound was quite precious.
The king and the hound were always together. Wherever he went, he always brought the hound with him. The king loved the hound a lot.
While one day, his hound was lost. He asked all officials and people to look for it but no one tracked it. So the king was furious and he punished all.
One day, the king personally led several officials to look for the lost hound. They went to a mountain enshrouded in clouds near India. Views there are beautiful. There was a house with auspicious aromatic plants’ smoke right over it.
The king finally found the hound lying under the table of this very household. He was quite happy and he wanted to take it away. The master of the household was a Brahman. Their daughter looked like the dakini.

The king fell in love with the daughter on first sight. While when he wanted to take away the hound, the hound was reluctant to leave.
Nothing could be done to help. The hound was loyal to that family. After the king returned to his state, one day, he gave an order to marry the daughter. The old couple should be prepared for that. They should agree with the marriage. The daughter must be married to him.
When the king went to marry the daughter, the hound left with the girl. She was Drowa Sangmo. Drowa Sangmo then became the princess. While the queen (the king’s mother) was jealous of her beauty, she would even beat and abuse her.
The queen was quite unhuman. She would even not give the princess food and bully her. However, the king loved Drowa Sangmo a lot. Drowa Sangmo soon gave birth to a prince Lhase Gyalpo and a princess Lhaji Kunsang. The queen was indifferent to her grandchildren.
Instead of taking care of them, the queen always humiliated and bullied them. She did all despicable means to bully and torture them. Drowa Sangmo was too distressed. She suffered too much.
At last, Drowa Sangmo could not bear it anymore, so she flew to the dakini world. Therefore, in Tibetan operas, they sung that Drowa Sangmo jumped off the cliff and flew to the dakini world with the wings of the eagle.
There was such a story. Before she flew to the heaven, there were such predictions and messages. In the lyrics of Tibetan opera Drowa Sangmo, please listen to me, prince and princess.
She used to sleep under the palm for 3 nights. The dreams were full of terrifying beasts.
She had no choices but to fly to the dakini world. The prince and princess should depend on the king. Drowa Sangmo left such a will. Therefore, Lhase Gyalpo and Lhaji Kunsang were left in the human world.
The siblings suffered from all kinds of tribulation. Moreover, the queen made every attempt to kill Lhase Gyalpo and Lhaji Kunsang.
In spite of these sufferings, they grew up sturdily. The queen was quite angry about this.

Firstly, they sent three hunters to expel Lhase Gyalpo and Lhaji Kunsang. After being expelled, the siblings were exposed to fowls, beasts, hunger, coldness, scare of beasts, demons and ghosts.
Under such circumstances, they managed to get away with the help of an old couple.
The three hunters could not hurt them. Then the queen sent three fishermen to kill them. They brought the siblings to a boat and threw them into a river.
While they were saved by fish. These are long stories. Later, three blacksmiths were sent to murder the siblings. But it turned out they all failed.
At last he won support from the masses and officials. Other states dispatched troops to help Garla Wangbu. He took back the throne and avenged his mother. He executed the queen.
After he ascended the throne, the state became peaceful, powerful and prosperous. He built such a country.
This is one of the eight Tibetan operas scripts. This story derived from stories of real life in Monyul. The story is based on real history.
Afterwards, gurus and sages adapted it into a script. This Tibetan opera is always performing on stage and is quite popular in Monyul. It originated in the birthplace of Drowa Sangmo.
Drowa Sangmo went to the dakini world. The stories of helping Lhase Gyalpo and Lhaji Kunsang were all traceable. Relics can be seen everywhere. This story stemmed from local social life of Monyul. That’s why people love it a lot.
