RAMALLAH, Aug. 3 (Xinhua) -- The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) announced Thursday that it has signed three agreements with Germany worth 28 million euros (about 30 million U.S. dollars) to support Palestinian refugees.

Two of the agreements, totaling 16 million euros (over 17 million U.S. dollars), will support an ongoing regional program to improve the living conditions of Palestinian refugees in the camps, the UN agency said in a press statement.

The program "will improve infrastructure in refugee camps in Lebanon and the Gaza Strip and support the construction, expansion, and rehabilitation of social, economic, and environmental infrastructure," it said.

The third will provide 12 million euros (about 13 million U.S. dollars) to the second phase of the current digital transformation program in health and education.

It "focuses on digitizing the main elements of UNRWA health and education services in Jordan, Gaza, the West Bank, and Lebanon," it said.
