On February 1, a nomad family held a traditional Tibetan wedding in accordance with regional customs for their son on the Yangxiang grasslands in Sunan Yugur Autonomous County, Gansu.

According to traditional customs, when local Tibetans get married, they must go through rites including a marriage proposal, engagement, wearing the bridal crown by the bride’s family, accompanying the bride to the groom’s family, holding wedding ceremony and the ending ceremony.

Weddings generally last three to five days. At the banquet held on the last morning, there is a “hulga” (bridal tea) ceremony.
