Costumes of women of Damxung County in northern Tibet are putting on traditional costumes
The herdsmen of northern Tibet's grasslands live on the 'Roof of the World', at an altitude of more than 4,000m surrounded by snow-capped mountains. Here they have created a traditional costume with distinct local and ethnic style.
Men are generally armed with knives on their body, and they wear fur hats, Tibetan boots and coloured ribbons around their waists. Women wear clothing studded from head to waist in amber and coral jewellery.
