Recently, the main project of subgrade of Lhasa-Nyingchi section which is part of Sichuan-Tibet Railway has been completed smoothly, according to the China Railway Corporation.

The Lhasa-Nyingchi section of Sichuan-Tibet Railway starts from Lhasa City and ends in Nyingchi City. The main line length of this section is 402 kilometers. There are 34 stations including Changgo, Konggar, Chanang, Zetang, Nyingchi and so on along the line.

The Lhasa-Nyingchi section is an important part of Sichuan-Tibet Railway and Yunnan-Tibet Railway which both belong to the medium-term and long-term railway network plan. After completion, it will further perfect regional railway network structure, improve transport infrastructure conditions, accelerate the conversion of local resources advantage to economic advantage, promote Tibet's economic and social development, enhance national unity, and strengthen defense transportation capacity.
