SHIGATSE, Aug. 2 (Kangba TV) -- China Eastern Airlines’ Airbus A319 landed on Shigatse Peace Airport at 15:55 on July 30, marking the official operation of the Shanghai-Xi’an-Shigatse airline. 

This is the ninth airline run by China Eastern Airlines in Tibet Autonomous Region (TAR). 

Flight MU2281 takes off from Shanghai at 08:20 and arrives at Xi’an at 10:50 on every Thursday and Sunday. It leaves Xi’an at 12:25 and lands in Shigatse at 15:55.  

The return flight MU2282 takes off at 16:35 in Shigatse on the same day, arrives at Xi’an at 19:50, leaves Xi’an at 21:00 and arrives at Shanghai at 23:15. 

As the second largest city in TAR, Shigatse City is rich in tourism resources, like the world's highest peak, Mt. Qomolangma.  

With this airline, tourists from Shanghai and Xi’an can travel to Shigatse with direct flights.   

By virtue of China Eastern Airlines’ airline network advantage in Xi’an and Shanghai, Shigatse, as well as TAR, is more accessible to the world. 

Besides this airline, China Eastern Airlines will increase Chengdu-Lhasa and Xi’an-Lhasa flights in this summer with Airbus A330 (which is more advanced, comfortable and of larger passenger capacity) to meet the demands of Tibet’s tourism and economy development.
