XINING, June 27 (Kangba TV) -- Qinghai-Tibet Railway Company launched the first "City of Stars" tourist-dedicated train, scheduled as Y965/6/7/8, on June 24.
The train set off from Xi'ning, Qinghai Province, and headed to Delinghai, the second largest city of Qinghai, by passing eight characteristic historical and cultural scenic spots on the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, including the Chinese wolfberry garden in Qaidam, Keluke Lake, Tsaka Lake and Fairy Bay.

According to Li Chunsheng, mayor of Delingha City, the tourist-dedicated train will improve the tourism environment and convenience, build the three-dimensional tourism transport network and enhance the overall competitive power of the city, rendering a milestone meaning to its tourism development.

It is learned that, on the day, Qinghai-Tibet Railway Company invited 60 people, including exemplar workers, dustmen, teachers and students from special schools, etc., to experience the journey for free.
"I am busy at work ordinarily, and have no time for travelling. I’m so lucky to take this tourist-dedicated train and travel to Delingha, which I have never been to," said Yu Ting, a dustman of Chengxi District, Xi’ning.

The launch of the "City of Stars" tourist-dedicated train helps build a high-end tourism route, carry out the "railway + scenic spot" tourism mode on Qinghai-Tibet Plateau.
It also explores the tourism resources of Qinghai, upgrades tourism industry, boosts the economy of the cities and townships along the Qinghai-Tibet Railway, and promotes the poverty alleviation in the impoverished areas.
