2018 Capstone 100·Zhara Snow Mountain kicked off in Bamei Township, Daofu County, Garze Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Sichuan Province at 3:00 a.m. on July 15.  

Over 200 cross-country enthusiasts from 13 countries and regions took part in the event and enjoyed their trekking tour on the Western Sichuan Plateau. The altitude elevates over 1,300 meters and the trekking time reaches 30 hours. 

According to the organizing committee, race track of this event covered almost all cross-country terrains, including the pave way, meadow, twisty mountain road, wading road, stone road and ramp way.

The race track is mainly in Bamei Township and Xiede Township. Participants started from Bamei Township’s emergency shelter square, passes by many tourist destinations, such as lotus treasured land, Zhara Snow Mountain’s viewing platform, Taizhan Valley, Sister Sea, etc. and trekked back to the starting point.  

Beautiful views along the race track added visual enjoyment to the competition. 

To ensure the safety of all participants, the organizing committee arranged sufficient emergency medicine, food, drinking water and rest areas as well as professional medical teams. 

It is learned that Daofu received 12,000 tourists on July 12 and 13 and achieved a tourism avenue of 11.84 million yuan. By integrating tourism and sports, Daofu succeeded in promoting its local tourism brand.
