Founded in 1568 and at an elevation of about 3996 meters, the Karjiu Temple is located in Lhakhang Village, Lhakhang Town, Luozha County, Lhoka City, Tibet Autonomous Region. Situated on the top of a hill, it is surrounded by lush vegetation.
