Plagued by the extended scorching heat in summer and wanna “cool down”? Qixia Valley in Songpan County, Aba Tibetan and Qiang Autonomous Prefecture, Sichuan Province is a good option to avoid summer heat. 

Qixia Valley covers an area of 2,627.1 hectares, about 50km away from Songpan County downtown, 78km away from Huanglong scenic spot, 47km away from Jiuzhai Huanglong Airport. 

The Snow Happy Valley in Songpan’s Qixia Valleyhas begun trial operation since July 23, where skiing, grass skiing and rafting are all available. 

Tourists can sit on a rubber cushion and slide down from the 130m long slide. The cushion would rotate 360 degrees in the middle, which is quite stimulating and fun. The valley has seven grass skiing slides with the maximum gradient of 11 degrees. 

As Aba’s first grass skiing resort, Qixia Valley scenic spot will build amusement facilities for skiing, rafting, grass skiing, horse riding, hiking, mountaineering, forest exploration, etc. with an investment of 500 million yuan. 

Qixia Valley is expected to be built into a national AAAA class scenic spot, receive 500,000 tourists and create a tourism revenue of 75 million yuan by 2020. 

The scenic spot has lush woods, distinctive meadows, waterfalls and lakes, with an average temperature of 5 degrees. The highest average temperature of 18 degrees appears in August, which makes it a wonderful summer resort.
