Jiezhu Village in Xi’eluo Township, Yajiang County, Garze Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Sichuan Province officially started its way to apply for the national AAAA scenic spot on July 8.
The famed Khampa men are dancing guozhuang (circle dance) in the village and riding horses on Guogangding meadow to embrace guests from afar.
Jiezhu Village is dubbed as the hometown of Khampa men, most of whom are sturdy and over 1.85 meters tall. Local men wear long hair like they used to, whose braids are made into the shapes of four, six or eight-petal lotuses by black silk. They usually decorate their braids with coral beads, ivory, gold and silver rings.

Besides Khampa men, Jiezhu Village is also known by the pottery figurines unearthed in Guogangding relic site in 2012, which is the only clue to study the White Wolf State.
As a typical alpine pastoral area, Jiezhu Village is rich in natural tourist resources as well as human ones, like imposing mountains, meadows, forests, streams, ancient temples, Tibetan villages, Tibetan folk customs, etc.
Local infrastructure, such as roads, bridges, tourist paths and service center will be built and perfected. Jiezhu Village plans to enter the national AAAA scenic spot list in two years and make it another tourist destination along the No. 318 national highway.
