Larima means “a fairy land where people lead a peaceful and contented life” in Tibetan. It is said that a deity travelled to Larima and was attracted by the gorgeous scenery there. The deity then decided to settle down and guard the land. Therefore, Larima is also called “the land a deity once lived”.

Larima Township has a village called Drazong, which features stone slab residences. Wooden fences, green stone slab paved streets and slate roofs there are rustic and practical.
Stone slab houses are common but a cluster of stone slab houses like Drazong Village is rare in Tibetan-inhabited areas.
