Situated in the northeast of Songpan County, Aba Tibetan and Qiang Autonomous Prefecture and the western slope of Mt. Minshan, it is an original and mysterious paradise with the highest peak at an altitude of 5,010m.
Due to the long-termfrost weathering and dissolution, the bare rocks on the ridge are white and red. At the foot of the mountain are the ancient primitive jungles and running brooks interspersed by colorfulwild flowers.
The ancient mountain lakes are embedded in the grand gorges like turquoises. It is believed by local Tibetans that the mysterious and magnificentHongxingyan is the sacred mountain to the heaven. So it is also called Shangzang in Tibetan.
Hongxingyan Scenic Spotwas initiated to develop in May, 2015 with an investment of 3 billion yuan. The scenic spot is designed to be a well-known outdoor eco-tourism experience destination at home and abroad, complementing other scenic spots in Songpan County, like Huanglong Scenic Spot, Tromjekhok Scenic Spot, etc.
