Mt. Zheduo is inside Garzê Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture of Sichuan Province. It has an altitude of 4270 meters and is a crucial geographical dividing line. West of the mountain lies eastern Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, after crossing Mt. Zheduo, one would be inside the Khampa Tibetan-inhabited areas. Mt. Zheduo has been called the "First Gate of Khampa." Zheduo also means "winding" in Tibetan, describing the incredibly curvy mountain roads on the mountain.
