Lalu Wetlands National Nature Reserve, also known as “the Lung of Lhasa”, covers an area of 12.64 square kilometers of wetlands in Lhasa, the capital of the Tibet Autonomous Region in the southwestern China. It is the largest and highest urban wetlands nature reserve national wide. The overall ecological environment of the wetlands have been effectively improved since the establishment of nature reserve in 1999. Xinhua reported.
