

Rongpo Glacier, located in a wide and open area at the foot of Mt. Qomolangma, extends between 5,300 meters and 6,300 meters above sea level. It consists of two big glaciers, the Western Rongpo Glacier and the Centeral Rongpo Glacier.
The area of Mt. Qomolangma lies in the center of China’s continental glacier. There are 15 mountain glaciers covering over 10 square kilometers, among which Rongpo Glacier is the biggest and the most famous one. Rongpo Glacier has a total length of 22.4 kilometers and covers a total area of 85.4 square kilometers.
