Winter scenery of three holy lakes in Tibet

Namtso Lake: With an altitude of 4,722 meters, Namtso Lake, the world’s highest saltwater lake, is known as “Heavenly Lake” in Tibetan language. Now, the lake has entered the freezing period, which is surrounded by snow-capped mountains. 

Yamdrok Lake: Yamdrok Lake, located in Nagarze County of Shanna Prefecture, southwest China’s Tibet Autonomous Region, is the largest freshwater lake at the foot of the Himalayas, is one of Tibet's three holy lakes, together with Namtso Lake and Lake Manasarovar.  

Lake Manasarovar: Lake Manasarovar is one of the highest fresh water lakes in the world, which is a holy lake to both Buddhists and Hindus.
