Nyangchu River is a tributary of the Yarlung Zangbo River, which spans 307.5 kilometers, with a drainage area of 1.75 square kilometers.
In the Tibetan language, Nyangchu River means "tears of a goddess".
It is the “mother river” for Tibetan people in the Kongpo area of southwest China's Tibet Autonomous Region.
