Villagers in Lhasa, Xizang, Celebrate the Ongkor Festival

Recently, villagers in Nam Village, Quxu County, Lhasa, Xizang, celebrated the annual Ongkor Festival. Dressed in their finest traditional attire, they circled the fields to pray for favorable weather and a bountiful harvest. In Tibetan, Ongkor literally means "circling the fields." 

As a traditional harvest festival in Xizang, it is listed as a National Intangible Cultural Heritage of China. The date of the celebration varies from place to place, depending on when local crops ripen.
