Tsangyang Gyatso, who was born in 1683, is a famous poet-monk in the history of Tibet. In 1697, he was selected as the reincarnated soul boy of the fifth Dalai Lama and his enthronement ceremony was held at Potala Palace in the same year. In recent years, as “Tsangyang Gyatso fever” heats up, poetry and collected works about this legend figure are even more overwhelming. Presently, translations of Tsangyang Gyatso’s love songs on the market almost all somehow deviate from the original. According to experts, translations which are apparently of one accord but divided in heart should “brake” in order to let people in both our country and the world truly know the charms of Tsangyang Gyatso’s love songs.
