First Tibetan TED speaker held a story-sharing meeting in Lhasa

Recently, Nyima Wangdu, the principal of the School for the Blind of Tibet Disabled Persons’ Federation and the first Tibetan TED speaker, held a story-sharing meeting on “I Don’t Want Three Days of Light” in Lhasa.

At the sharing meeting, Nyima Wangdu recounted his life experience over the past 30 years, and shared how he regained hope amid the twists and turns of his life. From a youth born in Garze Prefecture, Sichuan to becoming the principal of the School for the Blind of Tibet Disabled Persons’ Federation, Nyima Wangdu proved with his experience that “Even if I can’t soar in the sky like an eagle, I can fly close to the ground in a black world.” He hopes that through his positive and optimistic attitude towards life and his courage and perseverance in the face of difficulties, he can bring inspiration and faith to those who are confused.

Besides, at the meeting, Nyima Wangdu shared the stories of his studies recorded in the book “I Don’t Want Three Days of Light”, and the daily communications with children of the blind school. Through the sharing, he explained to the readers why he does not want three days of light. The readers participating in the meeting made one-on-one communication with Nyima Wangdu. In his witty and humorous language, they felt the flowing life force, gained an upward spirit and strengthened the courage to life.
