Fruits like pineapples, dragon fruits and America red grapes, which are generally growing in the tropical and plain areas, are now cultivated in an agricultural products demonstration base in Lhasa at an altitude of 3,600m. 

To cultivate more vegetable species on the plateau, the base constructed 30 greenhouses in 2012 and introduced over 30 kinds of vegetables like the kidney bean, cucumber and eggplant. Fruit trees were planted in 2014.

The multifunctional technological greenhouse is the biggest one with well-grown fruit tomatoes, sugar beets, watermelons, etc. cultivated with scientific methods.
