Losar or Tibetan New Year is the most important festival for Tibetan people. It is as grand as the Spring Festival of other nationalities. In pasturing areas, on the 1st day of the 1st month on Tibetan calendar, people have sheep heads in the morning. The wife usually starts cooking the sheep heads in the morning, according to the number of family members. The cooked sheep heads will be presented to the eldest person of the family, who distributes the sheep heads to family members in accordance with the respect for seniority. Sitting around the fire place, the family enjoys the dinner and greets each other.
