Tibetan-Qiang-Yi cultural industry corridor (Qinghai) receives billions of investment

It is learned from Qinghai Province’s Department of Culture, Press and Publication that, China Tibetan-Qiang-Yi cultural industry corridor (Qinghai) has carried out 17 cultural industry projects, with an investment of more than two billion yuan, April 11.

In 2014, Ministry of Culture and Ministry of Finance jointly released the General Plan for Tibetan-Qiang-Yi Cultural Industry Corridor.

The inhabited regions of Tibetan, Qiang and Yi people in Sichuan, Yunnan, Shaanxi, Gansu, Qinghai and Guizhou provinces and Tibet Autonomous Region, which cover an area of more than 700,000 square kilometers, were listed as implementation areas as planned.

Kang Haimin, deputy director of Qinghai’s Department of Culture, Press and Publication, noted that, Tibetan-Qiang-Yi cultural industry corridor (Qinghai) now has 1,591 cultural enterprises, with 44,000 people engaged in the sector.

As of now, Ministry of Culture has established the ecological protection experimental areas of Regong culture, Gesar culture and Tibetan culture in Huangnan, Golog and Yushu Tibetan autonomous prefectures, respectively.

With the most national ecological protection experimental areas in China, Qinghai has formed a cultural industry cluster regarding Thangka, clay sculpture, barbola, stone carving, Tibetan embroidery and ethnic clothing.

According to Kang Haimin, Qinghai will continue building the improved ethnic cultural system and consumption market, thus to promote the integration and development of cultural industry and relevant sectors regarding manufacture, architecture, information, tourism, agriculture, sports, health, etc.
