Mount Kailash, known in Tibetan as "Precious Jewel of Snow”, is one of the sacred peaks in Tibet. It is located in far western Tibet’s Ngari Prefecture, more than 1,200 kilometers from Lhasa.
Buddhist believe that walking around Mount Kailash once will clear away the sins of a lifetime. Walking 13 times around it will bring enlightenment within one lifetime and walking 108 times around it will bring instant enlightenment. [Photo/VTIBET.com]
