China has started the building of an observatory to decode cosmic secrets. The Large High Altitude Air Shower Observatory (LHAASO) is situated in Daocheng, southwest China's Sichuan Province. Construction of the observatory designed for detecting cosmic rays began on Tuesday. Spanning 1.36 square kilometers and located at an average altitude of 4,410 meters, LHAASO will detect cosmic rays, analyze the sources of the rays, and help decode the origins of the universe, as well as monitor solar activity and the space environment around the Earth.
