Khampa Tibetan folk song - wall tamping song

Publish Time: 2018-03-16 Author: Tian Ruolin From: Kangba TV

When building Tibetan earth-wood-structured dwellings, local people sing labor songs and wall tamping song is one of them.

Cob bricks are not used in dwellings of this kind. Large wood shelves inserted on both sides of the foundation are filled with wet soil.

People holding wooden tools with slim upper parts and thick lower parts line up on the foundation, tamp the soil and hum.

Contents of wall hitting song are rich, including auspicious blessings, eulogies of ethnic traditional customs and romantic love. While the structure of wall hitting song is simply in one answer after one question form.

The wall tamping song perfectly integrates labor with singing. It is passionate, vigorous and of ethnic features.
