Self-driving tour campsite in Ra’og Township, Tibet to be put into service

BAXOI, June 2 (Kangba TV)--Recently, it is known from the tourism department of Baxoi County, Tibet Autonomous Region, the Ra’og International Self-driving Tour Campsite will be put into service.

The campsite, which belongs to a local tourism development company, is a tourism poverty alleviation project of Baxoi County.

Invested with over 84 million yuan, the project covered an area of 13.33 hectares and started constructing in April, 2016.

With a building area of 5,000 sq. m., infrastructures, including restaurant, café, bar, convenience store, supermarket for specialties, tent site, motor home base and container house are all available in the campsite.

Now, the first phase of the project has been completed, and the second phase has finished 80% of construction and will be put into service soon.

According to a staff member of the company, based on the current traffic flow, the campsite receives 500 to 800 tourists every day.

60% of tourism vehicles and 80% of tourists come to the camp, indicating a good start.

To cater to the peak tourism season, the campsite will be put into full operation before June, 20, which will help increase the income of local farmers and herdsmen and boost tourism poverty alleviation.
