Editor's Note: CGTN is embarking on a 20-day journey to Ganzi Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture in southwest China's Sichuan Province for the production of Music Voyage, a cultural documentary that traces the roots of music on the Tibetan Plateau while exploring beautiful landscapes and diverse ethnic culture. This series previews six destinations that are not to be missed along the journey.

The fifth episode introduces a lesser-known county that sits on the southeastern part of the Qinghai-Tibetan Plateau. With an average elevation of 3,860 meters above sea level, Luhuo County in Ganzi Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, southwest China's Sichuan Province, is a hidden gem that boasts unspoiled nature and distinctive Tibetan culture.

For some pristine natural landscapes, Zongta Grassland and Kasa Lake are not to be missed when you visit the county. Often referred to as the "rainbow fallen to the world" by the locals, Zongta Grassland features several flowering stages throughout the year when it's blanketed with colorful wildflowers.

With surrounding mountains and fluffy clouds casting their reflections on water, Kasa Lake, situated 60 kilometers west of the county alongside the National Highway 317, has quite a view to behold. Local herdsmen living around the lake name it the "mother lake."

Luhuo is home to the UNESCO cultural heritage – thangka, a Tibetan art form that dates back over 1,000 years. The art of painting religious scrolls involves delicate techniques and the painters typically depict images from Tibetan Buddhism for religious use.

The art form epitomizes the spiritual history and regional culture of local Tibetan people. Once faced with the threat of extinction, now it has gained protection and inheritance supported by the local government.
