Yunnan’s Shangri-La is a desired tourist destination in summer. And the newly opened glass walkway in front of the Echo Wall in Bala Gezong Scenic Area has become quite popular.

Different from other dense mountain forests, mountain vegetation around the towering Echo Wall is sparse. If one shouts towards the cliff, the sound waves will be reflected back by the stone wall and reverberate in the ears.

People from Bala Village prefer to sing here because of the natural summation tone from the wall which adds more aroma and charm to the singing.

How to enjoy the gorgeous views on the cliff in a closer and more exciting way?

The scenic area came up with an idea to build a 1,106m long cliffside glass walkway. Four sightseeing platforms have been built to offer tourists overall angles of view.

Tourists now can see the whole Shangri-La grand canyon, Bandan Lhamo and Bala Gezong from the glass walkway.

Mountain peaks enshrouded in the fog and mist, together with the lush vegetation compose a picturesque setting.
