In Songpan County of Aba Tibetan and Qiang Autonomous Prefecture, Sichuan Province,220 hectares of lavenders at an altitude of 3,500m are in blossom, which make it a breathtaking landscape along Chengdu-Jiuzhaigou loop line and attracts many tourists from home and abroad.

Songpan County launched the “Sacred Land Flowers” project in 2015 and has constructed 220 hectares of flower fields and related infrastructure like washrooms, tourist center, parking lot, roads and sightseeing paths. 

“Sacred Land Flowers” project is built according to the standards of national AAAAA class scenic spot with an estimated investment of 5 billion yuan.  

As a must pass to Jiuzhaigou, Huanglong scenic spot and grasslands in the northwest China, the project is only 2km away from Jiuzhai Huanglong Airport.  

Florescence of local lavenders is about four months, lasting from late July to October. 

Based on the flowers, Songpan County also plans to establish the perfumery production and processing industry, whereby existing resources can be made full use of to develop local economy and increase people’s income.
