Chenrezig, a breath-taking sacred mountain in Sichuan

Publish Time: 2016-10-08 Author: From: Kangba TV

On the boundary among Muli Tibetan Autonomous County, Liangshan Yi Autonomous Prefecture, and Daocheng County of Garze Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Chenrezig is one of the most beautiful, magnificent mountains in China. In Tibetan, Chenrezig means Avalokite vara. (Tibetans believe that three pilgrimages to this mountain can realize all their dreams.)

At an altitude of 6,032m, Chenrezig is the north peak of “Three-savior Mountains,” ranking the first among three sacred mountains in Yading. Lofty, imposing, solemn, and auspicious, the snow on the peak exists all the year round. The mountain is like a giant sculpture of Buddha leaning back.

Before this mountain is Vajrayogini. On the left is the pyramid-shaped mountain White Tara. On the right is Green Tara where there are many swaying prayer flags. Next to Green Tara are many glaciated peaks called as fairies.
